About

I have a little knowledge about a lot of wildlife.

Since childhood I have always felt happiest when outside. But I am not a naturally sporty or very active person. It was the little things that fascinated me. How a leaf unfurled or a bee buzzed, the busy world of ants and beetles between blades of grass, the play of light on water.

But I did not choose to study zoology, botany or entomology. Instead for many years I was a journalist, then a massage therapist and now for the last 12 years or so, an environmental educator.

Through these changes the early fascinations have continued to thrive, develop and gradually take over. Along the way I have read books, volunteered for wildlife organisations and worked in others.

With these pages I want to share the knowledge I’ve acquired along the way, at a time when our planet needs all the help it can get. This world is full of beauty and wonder and whether you live in a giant city or a rural idyll its magic makes our lives brighter.
